ADVERSE REACTIONS
• Severeemotional,psychological,orphysicalproblemsmayoccur:iftheapplied
deviceisuncomfortable;orifitseverelylimitsmovement.Ifsymptomsof
theseproblemseverappearforanyreason,gethelpfromaqualiedmedical
authorityandndalessrestrictive,productorintervention.
INDICATIONS FOR USE:
• Patientsassessedtobeatriskofinjuryfromafall.
• Patientsneedingfreedomtorollfromsidetosideorsitupinbed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• DO NOTuseonapatientwhoisorbecomeshighlyaggressive,combative,
agitated,orsuicidal.
• DO NOTuseonpatientswith:ostomy,colostomy,orG-tubes;hernias,severe
CardioObstructivePulmonaryDisease(COPD);orwithpost-surgerytubes,
incisionsormonitoringlines.esecouldbedisruptedbyarestraint.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: (Increased Movement)
1. Openthebeltandcenteritacrossthemattresswiththeannel
sidetowardthesmallofthepatient’sback.
2. Positionthepatientinbedwiththebeltatwaistlevel.
3. Securetheshortstraptoamovablepartofthebedframe,witha
quick-releasetieorbuckle,outofthepatient’sreach.
4. Bringthelongstrapover,aroundthepatient’swaistandback
behindthepatientthroughtheslotinthebackpad.
5. Securethelongstraptoamovablepartofthebedframe,with
aquick-releasetieorbuckle,outofthepatient’sreach.ebelt
mustbesnug,butnotinterferewithbreathing.Tocheckforproper
t,slideanopenhand(at)betweenthebeltandthepatient.
6. Checkthatthestrapsaresecureandwillnotchangeposition,
loosen,ortightenifthepatientpullsonthem,orifthebedis
adjusted.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS (Decreased Movement):
1. Openthebeltandcenteritacrossthemattresswiththeannel
sidetowardthesmallofthepatient’sback.
2. Positionthepatientinbedwiththebeltatwaistlevel.
3. Securetheshortstraptoamovablepartofthebedframe,witha
quick-releasetieorbuckle,outofthepatient’sreach.
4. Bringthelongstrapover,
aroundthepatient’swaistand
infrontofthepatientthrough
theslotinthefront(g.1).
5. Securethelongstrapto
movablepartofthebedframe,
withaquick-releasetieor
buckle,outofthepatient’sreach.ebeltmustbesnug,butnot
interferewithbreathing.Tocheckforpropert,slideanopenhand
(at)betweenthebeltandthepatient.
6. Checkthatthestrapsaresecureandwillnotchangeposition,
loosen,ortightenifthepatientpullsonthem,orifthebedis
adjusted.

reducetheriskofentrapment.
• Usesiderailcoversandgapprotectorstohelppreventthe
patient’sbodyfromgoingunder,around,throughorbetweenthe
siderails.Afailuretodosomayresultinseriousinjuryordeathif
apatientbecomessuspendedorentrapped.Poseyoersafull
rangeofsiderailpadsand/orgapprotectorstocovergaps.
• Monitorperfacilitypolicytoensurethatthepatientcannotslide
down,orfallothemattressandbecomesuspendedor
entrapped(gs.2and3).
• STOPUSEATONCE:ifthepatienthasatendencytoslide
forwardordowninthedevice;orisabletoself-release.
NOTE:Arestraintwithapelvicpiecewillreducetheriskof
sliding,orofthepatientpullingthedeviceoverhisorherhead.
